Fishing and cooking in Georgia

Georgia with the Greater Caucasus is one of the most extraordinary places for anglers.

The variety of waters and the breathtaking nature are unparalleled.

Our favorite is the little-known Racha region in western Georgia. The mountain lakes and pristine rivers there, coupled with the Nordmann fir and mixed forests, are unique fishing and mushroom lovers' paradises.

 

We combine fishing with cooking.

On the road with a tent on the fire and/or at Georgian families' homes. After returning to the Hof Marani, we cook the fish we caught together to eat or preserve them (eg smoking) for transport home. The diverse infrastructure for cooking is both modern and archaic. The home-made wine and the over 8,000-year-old production method are another complementary element.
